In Those Jeans.

One of the hottest trends for this year is dun dun dah nahhhhh....The Denim. Not denim jeans necessarily, not denim shirts...just. Denim. To be honest, I don't even know why we call Denim a trend; it's been a part of life long before I made an entrance on this planet, so really it should be classified as a sort of lifestyle.

Denim is one of those statement pieces I think should be a part of every woman's wardrobe. For me, I personally love my denim jacket because of that extra cool factor it brings. I could wear a maxi dress with my denim jacket, *clicks* instant retro 90's chick. I could wear denim on denim (although one needs to be EXTRA careful how that's styled as it could end in calamity)! You can wear denim in a variety of ways as long as YOU define denim, and not the other way around. Below are some ideas of how I would style denim:

OUTFIT 1

Either the crop top or the bandeau would be my choice but I'm leaning more towards crop top just because I'm literally like in love with them at the moment ;)

Outfit 2

Rocking a bit of monochrome here with the blue on blue. The yellow shoes I think add a POP! to the somewhat simple hues.

Outfit 3

Told you I loved crop tops!! Haha!! You could change the aztec print crop top to a plain grey one if you wanted, but the print I feel makes it that more eye-popping :) I la-la-la-love boyfriend jeans!! It's better I feel to wear a more fitted top with them for that touch of femininity...too much baggy isn't nice!!

London Fashion Week!!

Sunday, February 17, 2013 Unknown 0 Comments

I was fortunate enough to attend LFW on behalf of TheLookhit.com as a fashion contributor last Friday;
and attended the Lug Von Siga show at Freemason Hall.

Designer Lug Von Siga made a thundering impact at London Fashion Week with the incredible AW 2013/14 collection. Everyone was anticipating with their cameras at the ready what trends would be incorporated in the show and I can honestly say, there wasn't a disappointed face in the house.

Monochrome was definitely in the forefront, with a majority of the designs being reflected in the collections. From cream tailored oversized coats teamed with black velvet fedoras to a cream dress featuring black velvet panels at the front, Lug Von Siga made sure every angle was covered for the monochrome trend.

Leather gloves, tipped as one of the hottest accessory trends of the year also made an appearance in some of the designs some-what echoing the return of the sixties. Lug Von Siga also embraced the Gothic trend in the AW 13/14 collection with models donning all black pieces including for e.g. a  tailored boyfriend blazer. The metallic trend was also included in the show with a silver sheen graphic printed tunic and an all gold outfit, once again reminding us that there's no shame in wanting to shine!

University Outfit of Those Days Part V

My poor scalp has been suffering from the dastardly freezing temperature that has decided to bless us recently. So I wanted to wear my bowler hat to protect my head!!

I was tricked (even though I should've known better)! Before I left my house, the sun was blaring through my  window curtains. So I decided based on the presence of the sun, to wear my chequed shirt underneath my heavy winter jacket. Thank God it wasn't THAT cold but let's just say I won't be doing that again in a hurry ;)

I sometimes really despise winter because for me I find it hard trying to balance my outfit out. I don't want to avoid wearing certain types of clothes because of the weather, but sometimes outfits look nice but they clash with my jacket. So it just makes things so much harder!! Know what I mean??!

My bowler hat didn't let me down ;) my head was snug and warm for most of the day :) going on the underground trains, when its mostly hot down there sometimes didn't help, but I'm not a moaner!!

Once I was in the snug and warm wall of my university campus, I switched my winter jacket for a thick cardi. This cardigan is sooo thick. it could sweat the flu out of someone!! Those cold winds won't even look in your direction!!

Here's a little look at what my chequed shirt looks like:

I now leave you with one of my all time fave songs by one of my fave artists Nero!!!

Little Girl Rock.

On Wednesday, I went to lunch with one of my favourite girls in the entire world for a major catch-up sesh at our favourite spot...TGI Friday's in Leicester sq!! The weather has turned evilly cold here in London city so I wanted to wrap up warm but I wanted to wear a skirt. So I teamed my big chunky knit jumper with my maxi dress & my leather jacket with THICK layering underneath to defeat the chills!! Sorry for the quality of the pic!! My phone was being a cow, so my lovely sister took the pic for me, then we had trouble trying to bluetooth the picture so then I had to download whatsapp blah blah blah blah blah... :

Have a great weekend!!

Mod-ern Day Romance.

The sixties is making a comeback once again in the fashion world but not through colour block dresses or mod-inspired make-up. No, the sixties are returning through fashion gates in the form of sunglasses!!

Spring 2013 can see the accessory in its true sixties form; the famous vintage cat-shaped ones, oversized white rounded frames, aviators, ray bans,  and the world's favourite 'Lennon' sunglasses inspired by John Lennon. A bit of fashion history for you; sunglasses became popular during the 60's because of the love of the staple piece by the Modernists also known as 'The Mods'. The sunglasses were inspired by the Blues and R'n'B singers of the sixties for e.g. Sonny Boy Williamson.

Designer Tom Ford, whose sunglasses are being worn by celebrities all over the world, debuted his Spring 2013 collection in which the sixties trend has been included. Different cat-inspired frames which would suit anyone looking to re-create the Mod scene!! Other designers such as Marc Jacobs Fashion deities such as Anna Dello has been seen in the 60's inspired sunglasses  as well as Rihanna, Solange Knowles and Dita Von Teese and I'm sure this spring many more individuals will be strutting the street bringing the 60's flare back!! Want to add a bit of history and sass to your accessory drawer? Make sure you purchase a pair of sixties inspired sunglasses this spring to add to your outfit and I promise you'll be the one of the stylish females around!!!

University Outfit of Those Days Part IIII

It's been a long time coming hasn't it beauts?!! I've missed doing outfit of the day but due to the unpredictable weather here in the UK, it's made it a bit difficult but never mind!! It's here now :))
I've been poorly over the past week and haven't really been in the mood to dress up haha!! So explains my laid-back outfit to uni ;)

At the moment, we're going through something I like to call Winter Warm. It's not particularly hot but it's not freezing cold either and we're in the winter season. Genius name right?! ;P

I'm in love with my leather trousers with side panels and try to wear them whenever possible!!

My D.I.Y studded ankle boots I thought paired nicely with the outfit...

I love my flared white top but decided to tie part of it into a side knot for a touch of edge.

Threw in my must-wear-with-every-outfit-possible-until-I-can't-anymore cross earrings!

Added my navy blue winter jacket which I absolutely adore, my black snood and voila!! One outfit for uni coming up!! :))
